Hello Dr. Christian,
You operated on me April 13, 2021, at the Villa Berica Clinic in Vicenza. The operation was aimed at resolving my “simple”, but painful and disabling herniated disc at level L3-L4, which was complicated by stenosis. Despite the fact that the hernia removed was approximately the size of a tangerine, immediately after the surgery I felt a sensation of liberation and lightness (especially in my legs).
I was happily surprised by the professionalism and clarity in which the medical situation and the operation were explained to me as I was accompanied by the doctor’s staff towards the surgery. I encountered humanity and clear organization, before, during, and after the surgery. Special care was paid to all the details and I felt reassured by the doctor’s positive, but never arrogant approach, to resolving the problem. I always felt guided and reassured.

Hello, I am Iuri Fontana and I am writing on behalf of my mother, Daniela Tison, and my father, Fiorello Fontana.
I want to congratulate Dr. Christian Capuano, Riccardo Bocca and all the office staff for their professionalism and courtesy.
My back surgery went very well thanks to the great skill of Dr. Christian – who is always very cordial and helpful with his patients.
I am totally satisfied with the operation that the doctor performed on me.
With a relapsing spinal problem, the result of a skiing accident, and after seeing several “skilled professionals” here and there, upon the recommendation of various acquaintances, I finally received a piece of advice that changed my life, an introduction to Dr. Christian Capuano.
After practicing competitive sports until I reached a very old age, I found myself unable to do many of the things I had always done. The various specialists I had consulted had no answers, and I was convinced I would never get better. Meanwhile, the pain continued to increase.
But then, Dr. Capuano, with his pragmatic and professional approach, explained to me in a clear and exhaustive way what my real problem was, including sharing his thoughts on my exams. He proposed that we work together in order to avoid the scalpel – surgery.
Unfortunately, this path was not successful, as we had hoped, following a worsening of my condition. As such, I was scheduled for surgery, and on 30/03/2021 the doctor performed surgery on me.
On the evening of the surgery I was already on my feet, and by the next day I was walking. The most incredible thing was that I felt like I was flying, compared to how I had felt before.
It is clear that the operation was perfectly successful. In addition to this, during my hospitalization I was “pampered” by Dr. Capuano, unlike any previous doctor; he reassured and supported me in this delicate phase.
Perhaps I have gone on for too long, but I want to emphasize the professionalism, seriousness and humanity that Dr. Capuano embodies… and, I was not really surprised when, shortly after my release from hospital, and facing hours of travel by car to get home, the phone rang and it was Dr. Capuano. He asked me how I was, how the return trip was going, and wished me a speedy recovery.
So… thank you Christian. I will continue praising your qualities to anyone who asks.

I was operated on by Dr. Capuano on 03/29/2021 for lumbar arthrodesis and now, three days after my surgery, I can walk very well. I found Dr. Capuano to be extremely professional, skilled, precise and above all, very compassionate. Dr. Capuano personally followed me in the clinic where I was hospitalized during the post-operative period and continued following my recovery until the day I was discharged. This, in my opinion, shows his respect for his patients and his devotion to his work. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Christian Capuano and to Ms. Marinella (a wonderful secretary and assistant) for their kindness, friendliness, availability, and above all, for the interest they show towards patients in the office, extending into their period of hospitalization. I was operated on by Doctor CAPUANO on February 15, 2021, at the Villa Berica Nursing Home and Medical Center in Vicenza. My operation was performed on the lumbar area due to Isthmic Spondylolisthesis L5 – S1 (a vertebra which slides over another). I can describe Dr. Capuano’s surgery – posterior approach lumbar sacral arthrodesis surgery with the interposition of an interbody fusion cage – as a work of art. From the beginning, this extraordinary Doctor with the capital “D”, and all the staff in his medical office, including the physiotherapist Dr. BOCCA, were extremely professional and kind.
What really struck me was the clarity of Dr. Capuano’s technical explanations and his deep humanity. This has become a utopia in today’s medical field; to be understood and comforted compassionately by professionals who truly understand the difficulties experienced by a person with a painful problem like mine. My reaction to this at first was a bit disarming, but only after experiencing this was I able to face such a delicate and risky operation at the age of 43 years of age, completely calmly, while knowing I was in the care of a person who knew exactly what he was doing. The exceptional ability and skill of Dr. CAPUANO and my preparation for surgery by the staff, allowed me to be back on my feet less than 24 hours after the surgery, accompanied by Dr. Capuano himself. In an extremely humble way, he helped me get dressed and then holding me, he helped me stand up. It felt wonderful. I can’t remember the last time I felt so weightless. That same evening, between periods of walking a few steps and resting, I managed to go up and down stairs. I couldn’t believe I was doing it. It was fantastic.
Dr. Capuano’s dedication to his patients continues in the post-operative stage. He followed my clinical conditions carefully, and I was hospitalized one extra day due to fever. As such, this was my experience, and I hope I have managed to convey how it went; the doctor’s treatment of patients was excellent and unique. I have never experienced anything like it or heard others talk in such a positive way of their involvement with doctors or with the medical system in general.
And so, I end my story with affectionate thanks and wishes for the best to Dr. CAPUANO. May the Lord give you the strength of mind you need and may he guide your hands to help patients in need. Thanks so much.
I was operated on by Dr. Capuano on Wednesday, 3 March, at the Nursing Home Clinic in Bra. My surgery was a herniotomy and a L4 – L5 foraminotomy with microsurgical technique and spinal anesthesia. It was a completely successful surgery without any post-operative pain. The morning following my operation, Dr. Capuano had me get up and walk with four other patients… What can I say about the doctor? He is exceptional in all respects, very understanding and professional.

I am 79 years old (almost 80), and was operated on by Dr. Christian Capuano on Tuesday 16 February 2021, at approximately 12 o’clock. The next day at 8:00 am, accompanied (but not held up) by Dr. Capuano, I took my first steps without pain for the first time in at least 2 years. I’m not sure if Dr. Capuano works miracles, but he comes very close to it.
Since then, I have walked without problems, I feel no pain except the discomfort of the incision itself, and I no longer even think about taking pain medicine. Enthusiastic about his professional work, I want to commend Dr. Capuano’s compassion; he kept my wife informed on the developments of the operation and answered the few questions I had about my objective state of well-being (I was, and still am, incredulous about the results!). Not wanting to overdo it with praise, I still would like to recommend that those suffering from sciatica, who are elderly and have heart problems like me, entrust themselves to the care of Dr. Capuano with complete confidence. Many compliments!
In July of 2020, we decided to take my father to Dr. Capuano as a ‘last resort’. Having spent ten years having useless tests and doctor’s visits with specialists, physiatrists and orthopedists who only knew how to prescribe palliative therapies to relieve the pain he experienced when walking, and recently endured when he was simply standing up, this time we understood we had found the ‘right’ person. Direct, plain-speaking, concise and extremely professional, Dr. Capuano immediately put my father on the waiting list for an operation to decompress his spinal column. No doctor had ever suggested an operation, in consideration of my father’s venerable age and his heart condition.
My father’s operation was performed with spinal anesthesia on 25 January at the clinic in Brà and went very well. On 27 January, he was discharged and now is starting the rehabilitation period dedicated to regaining his ability to walk correctly, after years of walking unevenly with a cane, while trying to avoid pain.
The best thing is seeing my father able to stand up straight, and who is ready to return to his long walks of the past.
I want to thank Dr. Capuano so much for the professionalism and kindness he demonstrated while caring for my father, for his constant presence during the hospital stay, and for the affection he showed my parents during their visits.
For several years, I had lower back pain which radiated into my legs and difficulty walking while doing daily activities; having been recommended to Dr. Capuano by friends who were his patients, I too decided to put myself into his hands. I had my operation at the Brà Clinic and the results were fantastic! I will never be able to thank the doctor enough for his earnestness, professional attitude and the dedication with which he carries out his work. On 11 January 2021 I was operated on by Dr. Capuano. The operation, performed under spinal anesthesia, consisted of an osteo-ligamentous canal and foraminal decompression at levels L4-L5-S1, plus lumbar arthrodesis with microsurgery technique. The intervention was a perfect success.
The pain that had tormented me for years and limited my life so much, has completely disappeared. The beauty of being able to choose what to do during the day based on one’s own choice, and not based on what one can physically do, is priceless.
